Belgium is famed for its fine gastronomy, with more than 120 Michelin starred restaurants throughout the country. Everyone has heard about The Jane Antwerp, the most glamorous and trendiest restaurant in Belgium. The Jane is a 2 Michelin-star restaurant run by the renowned chef Sergio Herman and his right-hand man Nick Bril. The restaurant already received its first Michelin-star just eight months after the opening in 2014, followed by a second Michelin-star a year later.

The Jane high-quality cuisine serves two tasting menus that consist of a number of starters, followed by the main course and desserts, optional with wine pairings. The restaurant has two areas. At the ground floor, formal dining where all tables can observe the magic that’s happening in the open kitchen glass cabin. While upstairs at the Upper Room Bar, you sit around a beautiful marble bar and enjoy delicious tapas, special cocktails and beers, and good music.

The Jane is designed by the Dutch interior architect Piet Boon, a friend of Herman. He was responsible for the transformation of a former chapel of the military hospital into a high-end restaurant with international allure. A restoration was only carried out where needed, while everything else was preserved in its original form. According to Herman and Bril, food is their religion, that is why the site of the former altar was converted into an open kitchen surrounded by glass. Every detail has been thought about in keeping the approach to authenticity, functionality, and materials that age beautifully. From the plates, the white tablecloths and fabulous cushions, through to the furniture and large stained-glass windows.

The eye-catcher is undoubtedly the impressive chandelier, designed by Pslab from Beirut. The interior of the restaurant is unique and now world famous, it has been ranked among the most beautiful restaurants in the world.
